TREATMENT OPTIONS

Traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a short-term, goal-oriented psychotherapy treatment that takes a hands-on, practical approach to problem-solving. Its goal is to change the adverse patterns of thinking or behavior that are the source of these difficulties, and thus change the way they feel.

Animal Assisted Therapy (AAT)

Therapy animals on the farm assist me in helping clients with a multitude of goals such as improving self-esteem and developing social skills. AAT also provides assistance for successful treatment of anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). At client request animals are included in sessions to provide useful bio feedback to help clients develop a better understanding of their authentic self.

Groups

Personal development can take place much more effectively in a group. A cohesive group is one in which all members feel a sense of belonging, acceptance, and validation. At Horizon View Therapy our groups are conducted with the goal of all members feeling safe enough to participate fully and reach their personal goals.

Pain Management Techniques (PMT)

Psychotherapy has been suggested as a treatment for people who suffer from chronic pain. Working together we will develop skills in mindfulness, pacing, relaxation, and management of symptoms to manage your pain. Positive psychotherapy results can reduce the need for medications, some of which are potentially dangerous.
