Experience and Expertise

Sara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and has been providing psychotherapy to clients for a variety of personal issues since 1996, in several different settings. Sara began her career in Oregon at a day treatment program for Chronically Mentally Ill, and was promoted to managing the out-patient behavioral health program through Peace Health Hospital. Moving back to the East coast she was the in-patient treatment provider at Saratoga Hospital Mental Health Unit, Saratoga Springs, NY, before becoming the director of the program. Her most recent position is Licensed Independent Social Worker for Rutland Regional Medical Center Behavioral Health Clinic in Rutland Vermont. During this time she has also worked with people with, and developed special training for treatment of, Chronic Pain issues through CBT.

Sara opened her private practice in Saratoga Springs, NY in 2005, and is licensed to work in Vermont and New York. She has maintained an active private practice for the past 13 years.

Sara has a life long passion for horses and has been riding and caring for horses since she was 13 years old. While in Oregon in 1996 she began to integrate horses into healing practices and continues on a quest of learning about this approach to therapy since then.

Sara is currently in training for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. The training will be completed in June of 2018. The United Sates Veterans Administration has approved EMDR for treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
